Adventures Code of Conduct

Joining an Adventure with Edge Group Scotland Ltd is about getting outdoors, embracing local cultures, living authentic experiences and establishing life-long friendships. Taking our clients on epic adventures isn’t possible unless we all show respect for the places we visit and for one another.

We pride ourselves on offering our adventurers the freedom to be independent on all of our trips, but the rules below don’t bend:

  • Be flexible and understanding of timings and itineraries - there’s so much of the world to see and we don’t want you to miss a single second or hold others up

  • Respect local customs and cultural values. If you’re not sure about something, just ask our expert Outdoor Activity Leaders and Support Workers. Respect other’s cultural values and points of view. Adventure and travel are all about embracing new ideas and learning new perspectives.

  • Be responsible for your actions at all times. Be polite, kind and respectful to Outdoor Activity Leaders and Support Workers, Drivers, locals, fellow travellers and anyone else you might encounter at any point during your adventure

  • Celebrate diversity: On a group adventure you will be exposed to all the pleasures and maybe some of the frustrations of travelling and taking part in activities as part of a group. Your fellow adventurers can and do come from all over the planet and at Edge Group Scotland Ltd we don't just value diversity, we celebrate it.

  • When on an international adventure, be aware that certain words or phrases that might be commonplace here in the UK are offensive to others and adapt your language for the situation you are in.

  • Leave no trace. This beautiful planet is for us to respect. Take your rubbish with you, reduce plastic as much as possible by using a refillable water bottle for example and make responsible decisions when in the great outdoors

  • Respect the privacy of others, particularly where photos and videos you take that may include other members of your group: Your trip manager will set up a Chat Group for communication. Make sure you’re respectful and avoid posting unacceptable content or anything contrary to Edge Group Scotland Ltd policies in your trip chat group.
