DAY 1 – Thursday
Your Aberfeldy adventure begins.
Meet your staff at Edge Adventures in Musselburgh, load up the buses and head off to The Bunkhouse. All that’s left to do today is settle in, get to know your fellow adventurers, grab some dinner and get ready for the exciting adventures ahead.
After dinner, it is time for team games, or chill-out, get some ‘down’ time.
DAY 2 – Friday
“On the River” – Choose from either whitewater rafting (beginners) OR river bugging (advanced) – we will take two groups out this morning.
AM: RIVER BUGGING (Group 1)
River Bugging is the latest things to hit the UK shores from New Zealand. The bug is a one person craft that looks like an inflatable armchair!
River bugs are a great way to play on the river if you want that little bit more excitement. They are ideal for summer river levels. Splash pioneered river bugging in Scotland, and as such we are the most experienced provider of this fun outdoor activity.
After receiving expert instruction from our experienced river bug guides, we’ll get you out on the river or on the whitewater course. You will be complete with your webbed gloves and full wetsuit gear, ready to hit the river. We will help you negotiate your own path down the white water rapids.
AM: WHITEWATER RAFTING (Group 2)
The River Tay is available for whitewater rafting all year round. It is the most run rafting river in Scotland. The River Tay acts as an excellent introduction to white water rafting. It is also very scenic due to the stunning landscape around Highland Perthshire and Aberfeldy.
PM: ZIP PARK
Over 1km of zip lines, through amazing scenery and over rivers.
More details to follow……………..
DAY 3 – Saturday
At Splash they have the experience and expertise, they have been Canyoning in Scotland for almost 20 years, and have introduced over 10,000 clients to this exciting, fun and fast-growing adventure sport.
What is Canyoning? Canyoning is a mixture of jumping, swimming, walking and even abseiling down a Canyon and or River. This is a unique activity that sees you work with highly trained canyoning guides to descend through a steep gorge or canyon with the flow of water. We only use experienced canyon guides on our canyoning trips. At times throughout the canyoning trip, you will get the chance to jump (from five foot to twenty foot), scramble and swim in amazing natural beauty. Adrenaline will flow and excitement will be had.
PM: QUAD BIKE TREKKING
The site is on a working farm and comes complete with ravines, burn crossings, forest course and all manner of other laughter-inducing features. You will potentially be around animals from the farm, please do not talk to the sheep – they get offended easily.
This quad bike course will put quad bikes and riders to the ultimate test and is sure to see the mud start flying. (rain and snow can be even more fun.)
THIS ACTIVITY IS RATED 5 STARS – Join us for an inspiring outdoor adventure. Our quad bike treks follow a network of tracks and off-road trails. We will go out in 3 groups of 6 folk + instructor.
DAY 4 – Sunday
AM: STAND-UP PADDLEBOARDING
Stand Up Paddle Boarding is an off shot of traditional surfing which originated in Hawaii. A fairly new sport that has blossomed over the last few years, which has seen the sport diverge from the sea to the river. There is even people doing Stand Up Paddle Board yoga!! We have a full fleet of boards and ready to take you down the river on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board).
The paddle board which resembles a surfboard is large enough and wide enough to allow you to stand up and balance with relevant ease. Propelling yourself down the river using your paddle, this is probably the most relaxing and exciting way to see the river.
Our Guides will brief you in every aspect of mastering the SUP for a safe, fun and enjoyable trip.
Dependent on experience this may be split into 2 groups – some on Loch water others on River.
PM: BUNGEE JUMPING – For the THRILLSEEKERS!
If you are looking for the ultimate extreme adrenaline rush the look no further. Perthshire boasts the only bridge bungee jump in the UK, with a drop of 40 metres you will reach up to 50mph on your rapid descent towards the River Garry!
Fully qualified Jump Masters will help you into your harness and give you a full safety briefing before you hear the words 3 …… 2 …….1 ….… Bungeeee!
Once the bouncing is over you will be winched back up to the jump platform where you will be able to view photographs and video of your giant leap of faith.
PM: Alternate activity to Bungee: CLAYS (Edge will contact prior to trip away to confirm your choice)
Whether you have never picked up a gun in your life before, or are a seasoned shot, we can guarantee a memorable session on our Clay Pigeon Shooting range. Enjoying a spectacular location overlooking Strathbraan, your country sports experience will be second to none.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through gun safety before teaching you how stand, aim and fire. We have different guns to suit kids, ladies and gents and our LaPorte 185PC competition standard traps can provide a range of challenging shots.
