MORNING: Raft Building
The ingredients are very simple….you and your group, use some plastic drums, long wooden poles and lots of lengths of rope….and of course the water. Your group will be split into two or three teams, depending upon overall numbers, and then under guidance from your instructor each team gets to design and build their raft. Is it going to be something fairly standard, or do you fancy trying something a little different? What’s going to float best? What’s going to prove fastest on the water?Once built it’s time to take to the water and test it for ‘seaworthiness’. With all participants kitted out with buoyancy aid, helmet and of course a paddle each, the weight of all team members on the raft and a few test paddles will soon give the answer. If needs be then there will be time and opportunity for any technical adjustments. Then the competitive spirit takes over and the teams are off and racing to see who gets bragging rights as top raft builders and racers.
An afternoon out in Aviemore, take in the sights and a spot of retail therapy before heading out for dinner in town.
Hairy coos and possibly red squirrels!Join us for an inspiring outdoor adventure. Our quad bike treks follow a network of tracks and off-road trails through the magnificent ancient pine woodland and across the heather moorland of this traditional Highland estate with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Look out for the estate’s herd of long-horned Highland cows with the chance of seeing wild deer and other local wildlife along the way. The treks are led by experienced and fully trained professional guides who are happy to stop at particularly impressive viewpoints and indicate areas of special interest. There are plenty of photo opportunities – don’t forget to bring a camera! There will be a 10.30am and a 1.30pm treks - you will be taken out in your group.
An all-time favourite (and an award-winning!) activity from our friends at Craggan Outdoors. You will be using the very latest in archery equipment, let by one of Craggan's experienced an d highly qualified, Archery Instructor.
They’ll teach you the basics and then give plenty of time to practice, before a series of games that will let you put that new found ability to use, in a fun and competitive environment with your fellow archers.
