The Edge Climbing Club is heading to Europe's largest indoor climbing arena, EICA:Ratho with world-class climbing walls, and we want you to join us.
The Edge Climb Crew is an adaptive climbing and lunch club for autistic and learning-disabled young adults in Edinburgh and the Lothians. A social lunch with the crew on arrival before EICA's friendly and experienced instructors expertly guide you to climbing greatness with the support of TeamEdge Outdoor Adventure Leaders.
Whether you're a seasoned pro on the wall or have never put a pair of climbing shoes on, you are guaranteed to build confidence, learn new skills, improve your technique and most importantly, have lots of fun with new friends!!

Please note that each full block club that runs for 4 weeks. We cannot accept any latecomers due to the teaching progression within the block - for one-off sessions, please see our Supported Epic Days Out

We’ve partnered with our pals at EICA to bring you a climbing club with a twist - the session starts with a social lunch club to fuel up before heading to the climbing wall to conquer the ropes.

A weekly club running for 4 consecutive weeks where you can make friends, enjoy delicious lunches, learn to climb safely and brush up on your technique.

Awarded Outcomes: Climbing Club attendees will work their way through the Indoor Climbing safety and technique levels to gain recognised proficiency certificates.
The Edge Climbing Club includes

What it's like






What's included
Experienced, expert instructors from EICA, accredited by the Mountain Training Association
All required equipment and safety gear is included. Harnesses, climbing shoes and helmets are included in the cost.
The session will start with a delicious light lunch on arrival at EICA.
Your choice of a sandwich, toastie or panini plus a drink to ensure you are fuelled up for your climbing session. You can enjoy your lunch with your new Edge Climb Crew buddies, get to know each other and make friends for life!
Edge's Outdoor Activity Leaders have many years' experience supporting autistic and learning disabled young people you are in very safe hands.

What's not included
TRAVEL

Kit List
The climbing wall at EICA: Ratho is a very large space, which is open in parts to the elements, so it can get quite chilly!
Please make sure you..
Wear clothing that is: comfy, doesn’t restrict movement (either loose or stretchy) and is ideally lightweight and breathable
Bring a warm jacket that allows for movement
You can get quite warm when climbing but will cool down when belaying, having layers will let you remove/add as necessary and make sure you are comfortable
Please bring plenty of fluids (bottle of water/juice) and snacks if needed
Climbing shoes, harnesses & helmets are all provided
