DAY 1 – Thursday
Your highland adventure begins. Meet your staff at Edge in Musselburgh, load up the buses and head off to your exclusive Forest Lodge in Aviemore. All that’s left to do today is settle in, get to know your fellow adventurers, grab some dinner and get ready for the exciting adventures ahead.
After dinner, it is time for team games, or chill-out, get some ‘down’ time.
DAY 2 – Friday
AM: HIGHLAND GAMES
Half-Day activity for all
Our Highland Games offers a nod to Scottish culture in the form of a great bit of team fun. You’ll be split into two or more ‘clans’ which will then compete across four events.
Try your hand at the caber toss, remembering that it’s not all about distance, but also about the quality and accuracy of your toss in keeping the caber aligned and hopefully turning through 180 degrees. Support your team-mates as they hold the shot in hand and drive up from the legs to power it out to the furthest distance possible. And thirdly, it’s not quite an authentic Highland Games event, but it’s great fun nonetheless…..how far can you ‘wang’ the welly? Plus we’ll throw in a few little extra twists along the way to keep the humour levels high.
The event then finishes in the traditional way of all Highland Games with a tug-o-war to see which clan is the ultimate champion. We can guarantee that it’ll get everybody’s competitive juices flowing, and that there will be plenty of laughs along the way. If you come prepared to be daft and have fun & don’t take yourself and life too seriously, then this is a great craic.
DAY 3 – Saturday
AM: QUAD BIKES
Hairy coos and possibly red squirrels!
Join us for an inspiring outdoor adventure. Our quad bike treks follow a network of tracks and off-road trails through the magnificent ancient pine woodland and across the heather moorland of this traditional Highland estate with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Look out for the estate’s herd of long-horned Highland cows with the chance of seeing wild deer and other local wildlife along the way. The treks are led by experienced and fully trained professional guides who are happy to stop at particularly impressive viewpoints and indicate areas of special interest. There are plenty of photo opportunities – don’t forget to bring a camera!
PM: IT’S CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSS – Sit down to a magnificent 4-course Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Party games, mocktails and Secret Santa gifts for everyone.
DAY 4 – Sunday
Get ready for an energetic and adrenaline-fuelled morning of paintball warfare. 100% natural purpose-designed and built ‘battlefield’ is set amongst the Scots Pine forests of the Cairngorms National Park, just minutes from Aviemore.
You will be split into ‘clans’ and then play out a number of different game scenarios over a 2-3 hour period. Who will prove to be the bravest? Who’s the most tactically astute? Who’s a crack shot sniper? Who’s just a sitting duck? And for Edge groups, not forgetting the ‘leader’ hunt!
All safety equipment, the gun and an initial supply of 200 paintballs are included.
PM: HAPPY NEW YEAR party – join us in fancy dress for the BEST party in Aviemore. Come dressed as your favourite ‘character’ and dance the night away.
Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.
Load the bus and head home after breakfast.
